Fortunately though, today Peter felt well enough to go out for a few hours and we got to see Aunt Gloria and Uncle Bill before they left town. We always enjoy seeing them. They are both so much fun to talk to and they always have great stories to tell us about their travels and their community volunteer work. They probably don't want me tell you this, but both Aunt Gloria and Uncle Bill are in their early eighties. But I'm not sharing this information for the sole reason of divulging their age. It's because I admire and look up to them as examples of two people who live life to the fullest.
One of their biggest (and most favorite) activities is helping to coordinate and work at their local Sons of Italy Lodge's "Festa Italiana". Peter and I have yet to get to Shalimar to attend the Festa, but we plan on getting there someday! This year, Aunt Gloria bought me, my mother-in-law, and my brother-in-law these great aprons that were sold at this year's Festa. We promptly donned them and took some photos. I'll be getting a lot of use out of mine right away. Thanks Aunt Gloria and Uncle Bill!

Flavia: I'm sure glad I got on Facebook today - hadn't seen this picture of us, etc. You certainly have some good recipes on here - saw the Pasta Fagioli - we're having our annual Pasta Fagioli on Jan 20th at our Lodge and the members have to RSVP to me, so they've already started calling. Our friend, Vince, who cooked our Christmas dinner, is in charge of getting the Pasta Fagioli together and a few of us help him. And, you're right! Wonderful soup! Aunt Gloria
