Next month will mark one year that I started this blog, and I'm still trying to figure out how a year flew by so fast. Although I started blogging on a somewhat uneasy footing, I've so enjoyed creating my own little space on the Internet, bumps and all. Before creating Flavia's Flavors, I was struggling with finding a creative outlet; to have something I could call my own. When I started reading food blogs, Peter started encouraging me to start a food blog of my own, but I was hesitant at first. I felt insecure and unsure about putting myself "out there" with all these other beautiful blogs. But I'm glad I decided to do it. I'm definitely still riding the blogging learning curve, but it's a fun experience nonetheless. Food, photography and writing have been my passions for a long time and blogging has become a way for me to indulge in all three of my favorite pursuits and showcase them for others to enjoy.
As I look at the year ahead of me, I'm making plans and setting goals for myself and my blog. I'd like to try to attend my first BlogHer conference in August in New York City, where I can network with other bloggers and learn more about blogging. And at some point this year, I'd like to try the NaBloPoMo challenge to really test my blogging stamina. I also want to continue teaching myself how to become a better writer, cook and photographer.
2010 is also going to bring a new look and some exciting changes to Flavia's Flavors. But I'm going to be a tease and not give you any specifics. It's going to take some time to implement the changes, but I promise you won't be disappointed. I'm working with two very talented women who are the best at what they do, and I feel so honored that they agreed to work with me!
I also want to start the New Year here at Flavia's Flavors by saying Thank You: To Peter, who is my biggest fan, Chief Taste Tester, and my own personal cheering squad. I wouldn't have been able to create this blog and keep it going without your love and support. To the family members and friends, who have given me endless love, encouragement and feedback. I couldn't ask for better people to have "in my corner" and I'm looking forward to feeding you more food! And to my newest blogging and Tasty Kitchen friends, Facebook Fans and Twitter followers, who have been so supportive and encouraging of my newest endeavor. I'm looking forward to continuing to correspond and share our love of all things cooking with you!
