{Flavia's Favorites} Williams-Sonoma Striped Dishtowels

Ask anyone who knows me well and they will most likely tell you that I am a clean freak. I don't mind cleaning; in fact, I love to clean. It's OK, you can say it...I'm weird that way. But it's true...cleaning makes me happy. It's one of those activities for me that helps me "zone out" for a while. My brain seems to always be in "drive" and cleaning puts it into "neutral" for a while. Sometimes I think and mull over ideas and problems while I clean; other times, I "clear the mechanism" and let thoughts float on by. As much as I love to clean, doing the dishes sometimes isn't my most favorite chore. I occasionally wish I could wiggle the tip of my nose like Samantha in Bewitched and have them magically washed, dried and put away.
For this month's first "Flavia's Favorites" post (there's a second one coming up to make up for the one I missed last month), I'm featuring Williams-Sonoma's striped cotton dishtowels. I love these dishtowels. I've been using them for as long as Peter and I have been married--almost 12 years!
I've received these dishtowels as gifts numerous times and I often give them as gifts to friends and family. They are sold in packages of 4 tied with a simple natural cloth ribbon. They are large and sturdy, 100% cotton and you can wash them in hot water without worrying that they'll shrink or get misshapen. They also last a long time. I'm hard on my dishtowels; I use and wash them often and they hold up well to daily use. The best part is that they come in some very pretty colors. Who wouldn't love having a few sets of these perky towels to to make dish duty a little less mundane?
