Ciao! It's so nice to be here again. I have been back from our vacation to Italy for a little over a week now, and this post is most overdue. I would have published this sooner had I not returned with The Worst Head Cold I Have Ever Had. Talk about a lousy souvenir. So, I've used this past week to mostly recover as well as get caught up on everything that piles up when you go on vacation: laundry, bills, grocery shopping, errand running...the list goes on. Now that I'm finally feeling like myself again, I can get back to blogging. I missed it.
I'm finding myself a little overwhelmed by the prospect of writing this post. There is so much to tell. We took so many pictures. We had so many fun experiences. Where do I begin? To make it less overwhelming for myself, I decided that I'm going to write several small posts in the next couple of weeks, with each post focusing on a different aspect of our trip. I think it's the perfect way to tell you about our vacation without overwhelming you, either! So here is a little pictorial preview of the upcoming posts--be sure to check back soon!
The Sights of Rome
There is just no comparison to the beautiful monuments, churches, staircases, bridges, ruins, fountains and side streets of Rome. We walked the city to see and photograph as much of it as we could. I can't wait to show you!
A Day Trip to Umbria
I loved our entire vacation, but this day trip to Umbria was my favorite part of our trip, hands down. We got away from the frenetic energy of Rome and spent an entire day looking at sights like this. Talk about relaxing. And we had one of the best meals of our trip.
Whether we ate in, ate out or browsed all the little food shops around the city, we never had a bad meal in Rome. Never.
As the saying goes, I'm saving the best for last. Seeing my extended family in Rome after not having been back to Italy for nine years was extremely special for me and we had a lot of fun together!
