Photo a Day Challenge & Some Updates

Happy February!

Can I just tell you something? I am totally in love with 2012 so far. I know we're only 33 days into the year, but I've been having so much fun. At the end of 2011, I got my act together and wrote down my goals for both my blog and my personal life, and I've been working diligently on them. Some days are better than others, but I'm telling the perfectionist in me to go easy on herself. As a result, I'm calmer and happier. Another great side effect is that I'm feeling more creative--ideas for blog posts, recipes and photographs are starting to come to me more easily.

Abother thing I'm loving about this year: Friends. New and old. Last year, I didn't do a great job of staying in touch with some of my dearest and closest friends, but this year I am making sure that changes. I updated my address book on my computer, made sure I'm subscribed to all my friend's updates on Facebook and added everyone's names to iMessage so I can text them. This year and going forward is all about living my life mindfully and with intention and that includes staying present and in touch with my friends. I'm also excited about the new friends I am meeting through blogging. I'm following some wonderful new-to-me bloggers and it has been so much fun interacting with them on Twitter.

{My Office}

Last month, I noticed that many of my Twitter friends were doing the January Photo a Day Challenge from a list created by Chantelle of the blog Fat Mum Slim. I loved seeing everyone's photos on Instagram and I decided that if there was going to be a February challenge that I would do it. I tried doing Project 365 a couple of years ago and gave up because the project seemed so big. Breaking up a photo-a-day challenge into months though seems much more manageable. I also love that Chantelle posts a list of themes for each day. I like the extra guidance, which still leaves room for endless creativity and expression. And since I always have my iPhone with me wherever I go, it will be that much easier to make a photo a day.

{One of my favorite quotes on a magnet in my office}

I am really excited and feeling very inspired by this creative challenge and I'm looking forward to sharing my photos with my friends. I will be posting all of my photos on Instagram, so feel free to follow me there to see them. I am listed as @flavias_flavors. I will also be posting the photos in a set on my Flickr photostream

I also have a couple of fun changes that have been made to my blog: I have a Media page, where I will be adding lists and links of where Flavia's Flavors is being featured. There is also a button {on the right} where you can click to get to my Pinterest profile. If you aren't on Pinterest, be sure to check it out. I am totally addicted to it and I love that I have one place to collect pictures and links to the things I love.

I'll be back tomorrow with a new post where I'll be giving you links to some of my favorite recipes to make for this weekend's Super Bowl. See you then!

Flavia, I am so happy for you! It is so fulfilling for feel a level of accomplishment. I think I've said this before, but you and I must be on a similar thought path or something! What you describe in your first paragraph is me to a "T." It feels so good, but it's made me busier. However, it's a productive level of busy as opposed to spinning my wheels busy, if that makes any sense. I sure hope our paths cross in person one of these days!

I just love your collection of "F"s above your desk! I have a blank wall about my desk that I don't know what to do with. I might just take some inspiration from you ;) Looking forward to seeing more photos from you this month!
